The above document will explain what model templates are, how and what they are comprised of, and how they are used to create compliant models.

The intricacies of each of these four process steps will be elaborated on, but it helps to have an overview.

  1. What start templates (if any) exist today that you can use?
  2. Find all different PRT vs. ASM vs. DRW example "compliant" models
  3. Thinking holistically about what will be your model templates
    1. What are model additions you constantly find yourself and your organization having to make? Can this be standardized?

Creating Model Template Details

The above document walks through how to upload existing start templates or "compliant" models and how to create metadata in the web application.

What comprises a Model Template?

Model Templates can be used for Assemblies (ASMs), Parts (PRTs), and Drawings (DRWs). Each of the three different types of models contains different model template information. 


Update

Applying Model Templates

The above document walks through how to update non-compliant models with the model templates, either with the entire model template or with a subset of the template (e.g. only just the layers, parameters, etc.).
